I am SO excited for these sessions! I’ve spent the past few months on maternity leave just being Mommy and everything the honor of that title means…changing diapers, doing puzzles, dressing up for tea parties {that’s what happens when you have all girls!}, reading books, having dance parties, going on walks, taking as many snuggles and kisses as are offered {or stolen!}, nursing, nursing, and nursing again, potty training…it’s been busy! One thing that’s been on my mind through it all is how wonderful it is to be a mom and the special relationship moms have with each of their children. Isn’t it incredible how different they can be and how much capacity we as moms have to love them all? Each one a little differently yet none more than another.
I take lots of pictures of my children but when they are grown and looking back I want them to not only see pictures of themselves, I want them to see our relationship too, which means I have to be in the photos. And like many of you, I dread being in front of the camera. After Molly was born I hired a friend and very talented photographer to take family photos because I wanted to be in them. By no means do I feel my most beautiful ~ I just had my third baby, I have baby weight to lose plus I’m sleep deprived. But I am the only one that sees that. My children and husband will look back on these photos and see US. Not me and my baby weight.
That is where my idea for Mommy & Me Mini Sessions came about…and what more perfect timing to celebrate moms than right around mother’s day! Whether your babies are young or old or you want to schedule this session for you and your own momma, we will make it work for you. Exact location is yet to be determined, but it will be near the Cary/Morrisville area.
This year, give yourself a gift that will keep on giving years from now. Or better yet, ask hubby to get you one as a mother’s day gift! {hint hint fellas!}
